Tickets: $40/person Our Maine South Music Boosters fall fundraisers were a huge success! Between Band Spectacular, the online auction, and choir, orchestra, and band "Section Wars," we raised over $15,000! This money goes back to our music programs in the form of private lesson scholarships, equipment and instruments, student experiences, summer camp, and other program needs. We hope the winners enjoy their pizza parties, parking passes, graduation experiences, and Maine South lockers! Thank you to all the parents, family members, community members, and alumni who donated to our fall fundraisers!
We will have a homecoming parade viewing party on Saturday morning (9/24) in front of Washington school on Stewart, right as the parade turns from Engel. We will have coffee, water and donut holes. Stop by to watch the parade with us!
This year the Maine South Music Boosters provided a pizza dinner for 8th graders and a casual dinner event for parents and families of 8th graders between Mr. Hutter's parent presentation and the start of the pregame show. High school parents were on hand to answer 8th grade parent questions about MS Marching Band related to band and athletics, theatre, choir, orchestra, and AP course load, college path, music major, band 101, just for fun. We also discussed band camp, time commitment, and ways to get involved. We love making connections with potential new band parents and hope to welcome them into the band family next year! On August 1st the Maine South Music Boosters hosted a pool party at Centennial Pool to kick off the beginning of school and another year of making music together. About 200 students from the band, orchestra, and chorus programs attended this event where they were able to swim, grab some snacks, and reconnect with one another after the summer. We hope this will become an annual event that everyone looks forward to each year!
Maine South Music Boosters is proud to support District 207's COVID-19 Emergency Fund for students, families and support staff members in greatest need. The District is collecting money that is being used to purchase gift cards from local businesses that provide groceries, food or household items. Gift cards have been distributed and will continue to be distributed to families and staff who are identified by school administrators. Music Boosters made a $250 donation to support any music students and their families who may be in need. To learn more about the District's program, please visit its website.
